We know you’re a superhero, but even superheroes need a break, especially on Mother’s Day. So, we’ve got the perfect Huevos Rancheros recipe for you to whip up and enjoy with a tasty Netflix ‘n’ Brunch session. Complete with classic Spicy Soweto Citrus Mimosas.

The kids won’t be back from the sleepover at their cousin’s place until later, so time to spoil yourself with some serious pamper me time. Now, we’re not saying they aren’t cute for serving you breakfast in bed. If you can look past the cold coffee, rubber eggs, and dry toast, it’s really sweet of them, they get an A for effort. But sometimes even with the sweetest kids on earth, every mom deserves a little time out, and we have the perfect suggestions to make your day special.

First things first, let’s start off with the star of the show, our spicy citrus mimosa. This baby is loaded with refreshing citrus notes and a kick of Soweto Chilli Lime sauce that’ll make your taste buds tingle:

1 bottle of your favourite champagne or sparkling wine
2 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup of lime juice
1/2 cup of Soweto Chilli Lime hot sauce
1/4 cup of honey
Ice cubes
Thinly sliced oranges and lime wedges, for garnish


  1. Mix together the orange juice, lime juice, Soweto Chilli Lime Sauce, and honey in a large pitcher until you achieve a perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
  2. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  3. When you’re ready to indulge, fill your glass with ice cubes and pour in the spicy citrus mixture until it fills one-third of the glass.
  4. Top off the glass with champagne or sparkling wine and garnish with thinly sliced oranges and lime wedges.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (410g) diced tomatoes, drained or two large tomatoes
120ml Soweto Chilli Lime Sauce
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 corn tortillas
4 large eggs
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
Lime wedges


  1. Heat up a large skillet with olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until the onion is cooked and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, Soweto Chilli Lime sauce, chilli powder, cumin, and salt. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Arrange the tortillas on top of the tomato mixture in the skillet.
  5. Crack an egg into each tortilla. Cover the skillet and let it cook until the eggs are set about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the eggs and cover again until the cheese is melted, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
